Top 10 places to visit in Chiang Mai

1 Doi Pha Hom Pok

The second highest mountain in Thailand near Myanmar border. Even it’s less popular, its beauty is as great as other mountains in Thailand.  Make sure you make a camp there in moonless night to see the milky way and scattering stars. From the camping area, you can walk 3.5km up to the lookout to see sunrise with 360 degree view. After tiring walk, get down from the mountain and visit the natural hot spring.

2 Doi Inthanon & Kiw Mae Pan

It is must-see destination if you come to Chiang Mai. You can go trekking at the top of Doi Inthanon or at Kiw Mae Pan. ‘Kiw’ means the cliff. Yes! The walking track is along the cliff and you can see the villages down there.

3 Mae Klang Luang village & Mae Wang

Don’t wanna get pissed off by other annoying tourists? Need an isolated place to relax and stay with yourself. Mae Klang Luang has the best to offer. It is a tranquil village with kind-hearted locals. There are an amazing waterfall nearby and rice steppes in rainy season. Run out of activities? Mae Sa waterfall is an ideal trip for half-day trekking. There’re 10 levels of the waterfall. The 5th to 7th levels are the most beautiful. Don’t forget to bring your bikinis cos you can swim in this area. Moreover, please make a visit at Maesa elephant camp to watch the show with your own eyes. See how clever they are?!

6 Tita Gallery, Anna Farm & Eatery

Wanna chill in the cafe but feel so sick of Chiang Mai city? Drive to Tita Gallery to try their cakes and tea. Sometimes they also sell the painting in the gallery. Still hungry after having a piece of cake? Move your butt to Anna Farm & Eatery.. It’s a fancy restaurant with yummy food (I guarantee the food is delish). They have their own rice fields so it is a really good restaurant with a view. (You know ‘Four season hotel’ has a rice field too so this is the cheaper choice to enjoy that view!)

7 Mae Ngud Dam

I’ve been to Mountain float restaurant in Mae Ngud Dam. It was a good experience to ride a tiny local boat in this Dam. You can go kayaking or do other water activities. Depending on each hotels.. what will be provided for you…

8 Doi Mae Ta marn

If we wanna see the great view while going camping, we all know with our hearts that we need to walk to the lookout spot and set a camp. hmmm. sometimes I’m too lazy to walk , too lazy to cook in the jungle yet I still wanna go camping with a great view. Doi Mae Ta marn is perfect for those lazy people. The road was cut to the camping spot, No walking required. The merchants also bring their homemade food to sell at the camping area. No cooking needed. At this spot, you can see the top of Doi Luang Chiang Dao from far away. What a nice view!

9 Ob Kharn National Park

I randomly found this infamous national park while driving somewhere I didn’t remember. There’s a small waterfall and canyon. The stream is not so strong. You can easily dip yourself in here.
